Joe Good shows his stuff with SoundsGood.Mac Lethal and Joe Good are two of Kansas City's best-known rappers. Apart from that fact, you wouldn't have heard their names in the same sentence — until now.
Last year, Mac (real name David McCleary Sheldon) signed to the prominent indie label Rhymesayers Entertainment, on which he'll release a solo album this spring. An area favorite, the Raytown-born, Overland Park-raised MC is known for his acerbic, confessional and often hilarious rhymes and outlandish stage presence.

Welcome to the 98th edition of The Run-Off Groove. I am John Book, and to Natalie Portman, I wanna f*** you too!!!
Joe Good is one half of the Kansas City duo Soundsgood, but this summer he will drop what may become one of the most talked about underground albums of the year, No More Mr. Nice Guy. In the meantime, he has released a mix CD of sorts as a preview of what's to come, called Hi, May I Help You? (Black Clover).
Solid beats, twisted lyrical themes and schemes, and motivation, that is what this mix CD is about. Joe Good and friend drop rhymes over well known beats, as well as original tracks, and it's those original tracks that people should be checking. As the lyrics say, it's home grown, proud to be an example of the KC hip-hop scene, but looking forward to joining everyone since his potential is worldwide. In this mix CD format, Joe is very sure of how he wants his music to be presented. It can be a mixture of tracks full of bravado, but always with a hint of humor and sarcasm, as well as skills and wit. If this is the style that he plans to explore on the full length, it may be on the top of many "Best Of" lists at the end of the year. Forget the toy in the Honey Nut Cheerios box, get yourself a big bowl and a big spoon, pour some soy milk in there, and chow down on hip-hop you can be proud to blast on Sundays.
